Player Placement Procedure

Fremantle Wolves FC (FWFC) players are expected to respect and demonstrate good sportsmanship and the importance of team play when a part of and representing FWFC. All players and their families at FWFC are expected to follow all Club Policies and to show commitment towards their team and their own personal development.

The success of Fremantle Wolves FC as a club is measured by its excellence on and off the court.

To align with the FWFC Mission Statement and Vision, early planning is required to prepare for each new season to ensure the club structure is settled before a new season commences. Part of the planning process is to finalise player placements in each playing squad for the new season.

Towards the end of each season, the following procedure will be followed in relations to Player Placement for the upcoming season

  • Trials will be held during normal training sessions where all existing players and trialists are expected to attend. This will ideally occur 1 week in between Rounds 16 and 18, but may vary depending on variables including the Team Calendar, whether its Summer or Winter Season and so on. Trials will be announced on the club Facebook & Instagram Pages, as well as itemised on the Wolves Monthly Calendar posted on the various groups.
  • Trials will be relaxed, but conducted in a professional manner which in itself will provide valuable experiences for the players attending the trials. Trials will be overseen by the Head Coach and the coaches for the relevant age groups trialling.
  • This will be a great opportunity for any players who are not planning to continue the following season to notify the Club to assist with planning for the upcoming season.
  • First Round Placement Offers will be made shortly after the trials, including details such as training nights, fees and other relevant information.
  • Players who have been offered a position at FWFC for the following season will have a designated amount of time to confirm their acceptance. A non-refundable deposit of $100 will be requested when confirmation is received.
  • When all positions for the upcoming season are filled, notifications will be sent out to any unsuccessful trialists along with an invitation to trial the following season and potentially advice regarding suitable alternative clubs and/or leagues for the trialist to find a position in.
  • The idea of holding trials at this time of the season, is to provide information to both the Club and its players.
  • Benefits for Players – The players and their families will benefit with the knowledge that their positions are secured for the following season or with the knowledge and time that they will need to find a position at an alternative club or league.
  • Benefits for FWFC – Gaining knowledge and securing players to allow early strategical team planning for the following season to operate within FWFC’s Vision and Philosophy.
