Parent/Supporter Code of Behaviour Expectations

Fremantle Wolves FC players will be taught to demonstrate good sportsmanship and the importance of team play. The success of Fremantle Wolves FC as a club is measured by its excellence on and off the court.

We expect ALL players and their parents to respect and follow these expectations when you are a part of and representing Fremantle Wolves FC

  • Always show respect to all players, officials and other spectators
  • Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours
  • Accept that striving to win is more important than winning itself. Victory and defeat are inevitable, and both should be accepted equally
  • Focus on the players/teams effort and performance rather than the result of the activity
  • Encourage players to always participate according to the rules
  • Always remain positive and show encouragement to all participants, officials and spectators
  • Remember that children learn best by example
  • Support all efforts to remove racial and religious vilification, verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion
  • Respect the match official’s decisions and teach players to do likewise
  • Show respect and appreciation to club officials, coaches and opposition players
  • If any issues arise at training or at a competition venue, they are to be communicated to a Wolves club official/coach for assessment and resolution if required. At no point in time are Wolves parents/supporters to enter into negative communications with opposition players/coaches, referees or any official directly or indirectly at any point in time.
  • This Code of Behaviour is to maintain the integrity of the values, philosophy and image of the Fremantle Wolves and its players.
  • If any serious breaches of this Code occur, it may result in the player being asked to leave the club immediately. No warnings may be provided depending on the seriousness of the breach.
